Collaborate to cultivate Plano's cultural landscape

At Collaborative Arts of Plano (CAP), we believe in the power of partnership to enhance Plano's cultural landscape. Membership in CAP is open to organizations that share our commitment to fostering the arts, culture, and creativity in our community.

By joining CAP, your organization can collaborate with like-minded groups, access unique resources, and contribute to a thriving cultural network.

Membership with CAP is ideal for organizations that:

  • Are based in or have a significant presence in Plano or its surrounding areas.

  • Have a mission or programming that aligns with CAP's goals of promoting arts and cultural development.

  • Are committed to active participation in CAP initiatives and collaborations.

Membership involves regular engagement with CAP events, meetings, and opportunities to contribute to Plano's vibrant arts scene.

Membership requirements

If your organization aligns with the requirements above, the next step is choosing the membership level that best matches your role in Plano’s arts community. CAP offers three membership paths—Affiliate, General Paid, and Corporate Sponsorship—each designed for different types of organizations and different ways of participating.

TIER 1

Affiliate Membership (Non-Paying)

    • Operate primarily as public service institutions

    • Have arts programming that benefits the Plano community

    Examples:

    • Plano ISD Fine Arts (directors and teachers)

    • Collin College arts departments

    • Plano Public Library

    • City/County community rec centers

    • Universities with arts outreach

  • To join as an Affiliate, an organization must:

    1. Provide a point of contact (liaison)

    2. Be willing to share arts events for CAP calendars

    3. Support the goal of community arts collaboration

    4. Have no commercial goal in CAP membership

    • Attend CAP monthly member meetings

    • Listing as “Affiliate Member” on the CAP website

    • Access to CAP communication updates

    • Access to a pool of shared resources

    • Opportunity to participate in CAP collaborations

    • Ability to share events for the CAP calendar

    • No voting rights

    • No business promotion

    • No ability to serve on the CAP board

  • Membership granted by vote of membership

TIER 2

General Paid Membership (Arts Organizations)

    • Nonprofit arts organizations and independent artists based in or serving Plano

    • Performance groups, ensembles, galleries, studios

    • Organizations or individuals creating, producing, or presenting arts programs

    • Groups seeking visibility, collaboration, advocacy, and networking

    1. Must pay annual CAP dues

    2. Must be an arts-focused organization

    3. Must actively support the CAP mission and participate in collective efforts

    • Voting rights

    • Ability to serve on CAP committees

    • Visibility on the CAP website as a full member

    • Access to partnerships, co-promotions, and collaborations

    • Opportunity to participate in CAP initiatives

    • Access to a pool of shared resources

    • Eligibility for leadership roles

    • Priority access to workshops, arts plan advisory opportunities, etc.

    • Corporate sponsor perks

    • Business-marketing rights unless part of a special sponsorship

  • Membership granted by vote of membership

TIER 3

Corporate Sponsorship Membership

    • For-profit businesses, corporate offices, medical institutions, and retail centers

    • Organizations that can contribute cash or in-kind support

    • Listing as a sponsor with a Logo placement on the CAP website

    • Access to CAP Speakers Bureau

    • Sponsorship levels with multiple recognition opportunities

    • Discounts to select performances offered by CAP member organizations

  • Membership granted by vote of membership
